Azerbaijan, Indonesia to define spheres for mutual investments

Indonesia is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan in the spheres of tourism, trade and investments, Indonesian Ambassador to Baku Husnan Bey Fananie told Trend.

Describing the relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, the ambassador noted that they are at a very good level.

This year the Azerbaijani government delegation will go to Indonesia, where during the meetings it is planned to define spheres for mutual investments, the ambassador added.

Fananie noted that tourism, culture, education and trade are currently priority areas for cooperation between Indonesia and Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Indonesia in 2016 amounted to $123.6 million, of which $77.5 million accounted for exports to this country, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

In particular, Azerbaijan delivers oil to Indonesia. Currently, there is successful cooperation between SOCAR Trading company and Indonesia’s Pertamina state oil company, and SOCAR Trading sells third party oil to Indonesian refineries for processing.

Along with this, Indonesia is ready to supply agricultural products - coffee, tea, palm oil, as well as products of light industry - furniture, tires, clothing, etc. to Azerbaijan.
