Inspections of business activity in Azerbaijan decreased by more than 1,000 times, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Sahil Babayev said.
Babayev made the remarks during the conference titled “Economic Reforms: Achieved Results and Recommendations” in Baku May 30.
Over the last 19 months, 89 inspections have been carried out in the country, whereas 99,000 inspections were carried out in the preceding 19-month period, he said.
Babayev also mentioned other reforms conducted in Azerbaijan recently.
"We carried out big reforms in business licensing,” he said. “We greatly reduced the number of licenses required for doing business. Moreover, the business licensing system has been transferred to the Ministry of Economy, which grants licenses through the ASAN Service centers now.”
Babayev added that the export of Azerbaijan’s goods also increased as a result of the reforms.
“Not only the volume of exports, but also the range of products exported abroad, have grown,” he said. “Over the four months of 2017, the range of products increased by 30 percent, the number of foreign economic trade participants increased by 8 percent, while the number of foreign trade partners rose by 4 percent.”
