A Pakistani delegation will arrive in on July 11, to participate in the ceremony of the official opening of the Azerbaijan branch of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
Following the announcement, Pakistan’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohammad Hafeez told Trend that NBP chairman Irshad Hussein would be heading the delegation.
The bank will be accommodated in the three-storey building located in Baku’s Istiglaliyyat (independence) street, running from the Presidential Palace to the head quarters of the Constitutional Court. NBP has spent about 5 million U.S. dollars to start operating in Azerbaijan.
“I think that the opening of the [NBP] branch will contribute a worthy share in the development of Pakistan-Azerbaijan economic ties,” the ambassador said.
