GDP GROWTH FOR 6 MONTHS OF CURRENT YEAR TO MAKE UP 16,5% IN AZERBAIJAN

The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) held sitting of the MED collegium on 12 July, dedicated to the results of the economy development for the first 6 months. The ED Minister, Farhad Aliyev noted the GDP growth for 6 months of the current year in Azerbaijan, making up 16,5%, Trend reports.

The growth of investments, aimed at the fixed capital was 10,3%. The industrial production growth in the current January-June was 20,1%, the agricultural production вЂ" 4,8%.

The average salary in Azerbaijan increased during this period by 25,9% and made up 561,000 manats.

According to the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) forecasts, the GDP growth for the current year will be 19% in Azerbaijan.

Aliyev also noted the success in reducing the population’s poverty index, which makes for the moment 19%, while earlier this indicator was 40,2%.
