The financing of the research on agriculture plants in Azerbaijan was discussed during
the visit of Rodomiro Ortiz, the representative of the International Center on Improvement of Maize and Wheat, to Baku on July from 8 to 13, the Scientific-Agrarian Center under the Agriculture Ministry told Trend.
Ortiz had a meeting with representatives of the big international donor organizations such as World Bank, EBRD, UN Development Program, USAID, and World Food Program.
He visited the Experimental station in Gobustan, got familiar with works carried out in the sphere of wheat selection.
Besides, Ortiz met with academician Jalal Aliyev, who informed the foreign representative about principles of growing of new kinds in result of agriculture plants selection in Azerbaijan and the problems appeared in this sphere.
