Elaboration of he unified tariffs on the transport corridor route Europe- Caucasus вЂ"Asia (TRACECA) is needed, deputy Transport Minister of Azerbaijan Musa Panaklhov told Trend on 14 July.
"It is rather complicated to define the unified tariff, as the route’s initial and final points are unknown. However, each country’s approaches to the tariff determination must be coordinated and transparent.
Freight carriers and freight receivers must know the costs of various goods along the route. It is the only way to attract additional goods to this transport corridor”, he noted.
Panakhov said, there is a large potential for attracting cargo to the TRACECA corridor. " In China the volume of container goods traffic is estimated by several million tons.
The Russian Transport Minister stated recently, the country’s potential in container traffic is 1,5 million tons, but only 150,000 tons are currently transported. It means a great volume of freight and the necessity to involve part of them in our route”, he concluded.
