The Yolneqliyyatservis department of the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry carries out re-qualification of contractors interested in the Baku ring road construction, the Ministry told Trend. The companies interested must submit their documents till 25 July.
"The preference will be given to companies operating in accordance with the laws of Azerbaijan, Kuwait, the Arab Emirates, as these countries will make the project’s funding. 7% discounts will be applied for the Arab countries and the Arabian-Azerbaijani Joint Ventures”, the Ministry noted.
For the project implementation the tender commission has been set up at the Ministry. The last version of the Feasibility Study in which the exact motorway route will be reflected is currently under development. The project went up in price for $17 million and its cost is currently estimated at about $45 million. The first version of the project’s Feasibility Study was developed in 1997.
