IMF MISSION HEADED BY AUGUSTIN CARSTENS TO ARRIVE IN BAKU TODAY

The World Bank (WB) mission headed by the deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Augustin Carstens will arrive in Baku in the evening of 21 July.

The mission’s official visit will commence on 22 July, the IMF Baku office told Trend. Meetings with the Finance Minister Avaz Alekperov, chairman of the Azerbaijan National Bank (ANB) Elman Rustamov, the Minister of Economic Development (MED) Farhad Aliyev, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Artur Rasizade and the country’s President Ilham Aliyev will be held, followed by the briefing for the press and the meeting with the NGOs.

It should be noted, that jointly with Augustin Carstens head of the IMF mission on Azerbaijan, expert of the IMF department on Middle East and Central Asia Vitali Kramarenko, Movsin Han and Fritz Zurburg are to arrive in Baku.

The visit will be of a familiarization character and implemented in the framework of regular visits of the managing director and his deputies on the IMF’s countries.
