The roundtable on Perspectives for development of leasing was held in Baku on 8 August. The roundtable was organized by the Azerbaijani Leasing Development Project (ALDP), International Finance Corporation (IFO), Association of Leasing Companies, SECO, Trend reports. The attending were around 80 representatives of state bodies, international finance institutes and organizations, interested in the implementation of leasing operations.
“Azerbaijan achieved positive changes in the development of leasing, but many problems still remain,” Farhad Aliyev, the Minister of Economic Development, said. Some legal acts are to be changed for development of leasing operations.
According to Aliyev, the importance of the leasing is related with necessity of purchases of new technologies and techniques in the agriculture, which is the major sphere in the non-oil sector of the country’s economy. Development of leasing in the country will stimulate development of economy and lead to satisfaction of demands of the internal and foreign markets.
