BAKU MAYOR’S OFFICE INTERESTED IN WORLD BANK’S ASSISTANCE

The Executive Power of the Baku city counts on involving the World Bank’s funding for implementation of the large-scale program of the capital city’s development.

The mayor’s office is interested in technical assistance in the city development programs, as well as to submit some priority projects for rehabilitation and modernization of the city’s infrastructure to the World Bank for consideration, the Baku Mayor’s office told Trend.

The World Bank’s director on Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia Donna Dowsett-Koyrolo had a meeting with the head of the Baku Executive power Hadjibala Abutalibov during her last visit to the country, the World Bank Baku office reported.

"General problems of Baku, perspectives of its development and the effect of the existing building boom on the state of the city infrastructure were discussed at the meeting. The World Bank noted the necessity for the development of the water supply system, the road network, parking lots for the road transport and etc.
