On Saturday Baku hosted a conference on "The role of consumer rights protection in the development of national production in Azerbaijan”, Trend reports.
Attending the forum were Farhad Aliyev, the Minister for Economic Development, representatives from different public organizations on consumer rights protection and entrepreneurs.
Aliyev noted that the conference was the continuation of an event on development of national production. He stressed that stimulation of consumers to purchase of national goods and defense of their rights assumes special importance in the development of the national production.
"In the near future we want to hold events under the development of national production with participation of officials of the governmental bodies, entrepreneurs and leading media units,” he underlined.
Rahim Husseynov, the head of the Anti-monopoly Department, spoke about work on the development of national production and noted that the government renders huge assistance in this direction.
"The public awareness on local production should be provided in order to develop the national production," he noted.
The Society for Consumer Rights Development presented its proposals on the promotion of local production. They noted the significance of regulation of domestic market and implementation of work on stimulating the purchase of local output. They noted the necessity for he improvement of the legislation on defense of consumer rights.
