WB CONSULTANTS ON PENSION AND SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT TO ARRIVE IN BAKU

Consultants of the World Bank (WB) on pension and social assistance project (PSAP) will arrive in Baku on 15 September, Salim Muslimov, the head of the State Fund for Social Security (SFSS) said to a news-conference on Friday, Trend reports.

“They will render consulting services on formation of new pension system within the project. 1300 computers in the amount of $5 million were purchased at expense of credits to develop insurance cards,” he said.

Muslimov noted that from 1 January new pension system will be applied and the country will turn to address system of social security.

He stressed that the project would positively impact on standard of living. The UNDP also participates at the project. It has provided social services in 23 pilot regions with 178 computers and plans to supply divisions of individual registration with 125 computers. 997,000 people are included into the database and approximately 1.5m will be included till late 2005.

The project envisages holding of training for employees and informing of society.

According to Muslimov, application of individual social insurance system envisages calculation of pension from basic pension (12.5 points), social insurance (10 points), and accumulating part (2.5 points).
