MEETING OF CIS & BALTIC RAILWAY EXPERTS STARTS IN DUSHANBE

The three-day meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Baltic countries railway experts started in Dushanbe on 30 August, the Azerbaijani Railway Department (ARD) told Trend.

The meeting with participation of Hussamed Malikov, the deputy chief of the Tariff and Transport Services of the ARD, will discuss tariff policy for 2006.

The participants of the meetings will develop a draft tariff policy on cargo transportation on base of proposals presented by the countries. The major goal of the event is to balance the tariff policy of the CIS and the Baltic countries, which will increase the cargo transportation. The final document on tariffs will be adopted in Tallinn in October 2005.

The attending will also be representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.
