TOTAL TURNOVER OF BAKU STOCK EXCHANGE EXCEEDS 1 TRLN AZM

The total turnover of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSEX) comprised 1,077,894,094,523 manats from January to June 2005 and 156,066,430,900 manats over January-August 2005, while the total turnover for whole 2004 made up 467,354,495,643 manats, Trend reports. Thus, the turnover exceeds 1 trln manats over 8 months.

The volume of placement of the BSEX notes amounted 443 062 314 100 manats in this period. The turnover at the second market comprised 59 027 360 300 manats.

The Finance Ministry placed T-bill in the amount of 121,988,725,100 manats. Over 6 months of 2004 the similar figure made up 79,106,009,600 manats.

The deals with T-bills in the secondary totaled 1,506,560,000 (in January to August 2004 deals with T-bills in the secondary market amounted to 6,380,354,500 manats).

The stock placement comprised 144,950,857,000 manats. In January to August 2004 stock placement was equal to 13,204,388,000 manats. The amount of trading sessions in the secondary market made up 17,397,281,702 manats (the similar figure for January to August of 2004
was 2,099,154,300 manats).

1,519,257,848 manats worth of corporate bonds were placed in this period (in January to August 2004 the bonds placed in the market summed up 54,829,067,000 manats). The amount of trading sessions in this segment of the market comprised 4,396,744,665 manats against 447,457.500 manats in 2004.

In January to August 2005 repo-deals on notes amounted to 284,044,993,808 manats.
