A319 airbus purchased by AZAL State Concern from the Airbus Industries international air company with major shareholder EADC European air-space concern will be commissioned in the international flights, including the flights to Europe, Asia, Near East, the AZAL told Trend. The airbus will be delivered to Baku from Hamburg on 2 September.
By the end of the year AZAL will receive 2 airliners and corporate airliner AIRBUS ACJ, while the least will arrive in first half-year of 2006. Last year AZAL acquired Рђ320 airbus, which is used for training of the technical crew.
A $170m contract on purchase of 4 airliners was by AZAL and AIRBUS was signed in Berlin in August 2004 during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Germany.
Under the contract ABN AMRO Bank allocated funds under the governmental guarantee of Azerbaijan through three European credit agencies Cofas of France, Germes of Germany and ECGD of the UK for 12 years with 3-year grace period with profitable interests.
