"I back the idea that the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) should actively and comprehensively study the experience of the European Commission and European Union for establishment of serious and strong organization, as the BSEC is in need of reforming and development to become an effective organization," Mahmud Mammadguliyev, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, said in an exclusive interview for Trend on Tuesday.

According to Mammadguliyev, experts of the BSEC and EU held a meeting in Athens in September at the initiative of the Greek
side.

"At the moment there are favorable pre-conditions to develop the bilateral relationships. During the recent meeting both the EU and the BSEC put forward some proposals. The cooperation between the BSEC and EU will develop and yield concrete results," he underlined.

If needed a document regulating cooperation will be adopted to define the directions and plans on implementation of concrete actions. "The establishment of the relevant committees and subcommittees is a perspective plan, while today it is necessary to outline the spheres of cooperation. We have some contours, which stipulate the cooperation in the sphere of energy and transport," Mammadguliyev said.
