Since the start of the year the yield of cereals in Azerbaijan was over 2 million tons. During this period the actual harvest was over 300,000 hectares and the yield per hectare was 25 centners, head of the information center of the Agriculture Ministry Murtuzali Hadjiyev told Trend. This figure is the same with the figure of 2004.
According to him, 62 units more of the new agricultural machines were involved in the harvesting as compared to the previous year.
As for the harvesting forecast in regard to grain and bean plants the spokesman of the Ministry said, this index for 2005 is 2,25 million tons. The forecast for the maize yield is 150,000 tons, rice вЂ" in the volume of 15,000-20,000 tons.
