WB MISSION SETS UP TALKS WITH AZERI TRANSPORT MINISTRY

A World Bank mission on transport, headed by Olivie Leber, a WB export on transport, set up talks with the Transport Ministry on Monday, the Transport Ministry told Trend . The visit targets holding discussions with the leadership of the Ministry on the work done under the development of transport infrastructure, reforms, in particular, the construction of a motor way.

The Ministry noted that the discussions would concern the project on the construction and the reconstruction of the Alat-Astara highway. The project requires approximately $400m, while $300m to be allotted by the WB, the rest вЂ" by Azerbaijan ($60m) and Iran ($40m). Iran agreed to give a $40m credit to implement the project.

The length of the Alat-Astara highway is 243 km.
