An Azerbaijani private air company Silk Way Airlines intends to purchase a new IL-76 airliner from the Chkalov Tashkent Production Association, the company told Trend.
The talks will continue by the end of the year and the company will purchase the airliner in 2006, the third purchase from the Chkalov PA.
The cost of the airliner is still to be defined, while it will be more expensive as compared to previous ones. "It is linked with the rise of metal prices in the world market, as well as the use of new models of engine in the airliner," he noted. This type of the airliner cost $5-7m.
