The Kazakh TuranAlem bank waits for repeated license from the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) to open Azerbaijani representative office. “The terms of issuing is unknown,” Aida Sultanova, the head of TuranAlem Baku representative office, told Trend.
“We received primary license and pass registration at the Justice Ministry to get final license, but the terms of issuing is unknown. I’m going to send an inquiry to the NBA to clarify the situation,” she noted.
Sultanova stressed that the same time the bank held talks on purchase of share in local banks. “We made proposals to local banks in regard to purchase of share. The project is under initial discussions and it is too early to spoke about results. We study financial state of banks, development level of branch network and other criteria. We don’t plan to buy 100% of bank, but only control stock,” she underlined.
