AZERBAIJAN RANKS SECOND IN CIS FOR COMPETITIVE STRENGTH RATING OF WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

Azerbaijan turned out the 69th for competitive strength in the rating list compiled by the World Economic Forum. In this list Azerbaijan yielded only Kazakhstan among other CIS countries, which occupied 61st place, Reuters reports.

As of the researches Russia was the 75th, Armenia вЂ" 79th, Moldova вЂ" 82nd, Ukraine вЂ" 84th, Georgia вЂ" 86th, Tajikistan вЂ" 104h, while actually concluded in the 119-member list with its place at 116.

The researches, the results of which have been published for the past 26 year, estimate the situation in 117 world countries through inquiry among 11,000 businessmen in research institutes. While compiling the list the authors take into consideration some factors including the quality of the work of state institutes, the level of technologies and quantity of innovations.

Finland was defined as the country with the most competitive strength. It is followed by the United States. The top ten of countries with more competitive strength include Sweden, Denmark, Taiwan, Singapore, Islands, Switzerland, Norway, and Australia.
