AZERBAIJAN TO ACQUIRE SECOND AIRBUS THIS MONTH

Azerbaijan will acquire the second airbus "Рђ319", made by the international air company Airbus Industries, a major shareholder of European airspace company EADC, in October, AZAL state air company of Azerbaijan told Trend . The third and fourth airliners will be delivered to Azerbaijan in 2006. Airliners "Рђ319" will be commissioned in the international routes, including the flights to cities of Europe, Asia, and Near East.

The first airliner was delivered to Baku from Hamburg on 2 September 2005.

Last year AZAL acquired airliner "Рђ320", which is used for training of technical crew.

A contract on purchase of airliners was signed by the heads of the Azerbaijani air company AZAL and AIRBUS company in Berlin in August 2004 during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Germany.

The $174m contract implemented at the expense of the funds allocated by three European credit agencies вЂ" the French Cofas, the German Germes and the British ECGD through the Azerbaijani ABN AMRO Bank under the governmental guarantees.

The loan is assigned with the term of 12 years with 3-year grace period at profitable interests. The airliners accommodates 122 passengers.

The airliners are purchased under the program on development of civil aviation system in the country.
