ASK AND ACBCIRA SIGNED COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Azerbaijan (ASK) and the Azerbaijani-Rumanian Chamber of Trade and Industry (ACBCIRA) signed an agreement on cooperation. The signatures under the documents were put by the ASK head Alekper Mammadov and the ACBCIRA president Dragomir Gheorghe.

The agreement regulates the issues of mutual relations in many spheres, Mammadov told Trend exclusively. "The issues of cooperation in the informational exchange are dealt with in the document. Besides, intentions on cooperation in staging joint events, particularly, business-forums, assisting the entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Rumania” are also reflected in the document, the ASK head noted.

According to Mammadov, the trade turnover between these two countries in 2004 was some $22,7 million, the main export items of Azerbaijan were cotton, oil and oil products (the latter constituted some 90% of export). Rumania exported to Azerbaijan mostly furniture and transport vehicles.

It should be noted, for 7 months of 2005 the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Rumania was $56,013,000 while the import from Rumania was $3,159,200, and the export to Rumania - $52,853,800; the positive saldo was $49,694,500.
