JAPANESE INVESTORS STUDY DETAILSOF PROJECT ON KARS-AKHALKALAKI-TBILISI-BAKU RAILWAY

(Kabkaz-Press) - “Japanese investors may put funds in the project on Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway,” David Onorprishvili, the Director General of the Georgian Railway, said to a briefing on Saturday .

The Japanese delegation is on visit to Tbilisi to study the details of the project. According Onoprishvili, the Japanese have visited Akhalkalaki and viewed the territory bordering with Turkey, where the railway will pass. “The Japan will determine their further steps after completion of technical documentation,” he added. Onoprishvili stressed that the Japanese demonstrated interest to the Georgian project during the forum �Invest in Georgia’ in Tokyo.

In accordance with initial estimation, the construction of the railway will requires $400m.
