WB presents terms of competition �Development ideas market 2006’

On Wednesday the World Bank (WB) presented the terms of the competition �Development Ideas market 2006’, which will be held on rendering of services to poor people in the water supply. Applications concerning participation in the competition are received from 3 October to 30 November, Sabina Jafarova, the employee of the WB Baku Representation, stated on Wednesday, Trend reports.

“The applications will be considered from 30 November to 14 February, while the competition will be held in Washington from 8 to 9 May 2006 with participation of 100 people from the world. The grant will amount $200,000 for 2 years,” She noted.

”Two local organizations became finalist in 205, but only the Center on Search of Ecological Problems received $120,000 grant. The total cost of the project comprised $140,000. The project is aimed at solution of the deforestation problem, utilization of plastic bottles and aluminium dust,” Kamran Mahmudov, the President of the Center, said.
