Azerbaijan completed grain harvest. The harvest made up 2,126m tons or 31,268,000 tons less as compared 2004, the Agriculture Ministry told Trend.
The Ministry noted that the reason for low harvest was drought in the mountainous regions of the country. It destroyed 20,000 hectares.
“Nevertheless, the figure is not very high in the level of all country,” the Ministry underlined.
62 new agriculture technique was used during the collection of the harvest in 2005. 3,900 combines worked on fields.
The grain harvest for 2005 is forecasted at 2.25m tons. In 2005 the figure comprised 2.158m tons.
