Construction of the grain terminal in Azerbaijan was put off till 2006 due to some work related to development of the project. The exact place of the future 15,000-ton terminal was not determined, the Kazakh embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend.

The sides work on the feasibility study of the projects and consider possibility of establishment of the joint enterprise with participation of the both countries.

In 2004 Azerbaijan imported 500,000 tons grain from Kazakhstan. According to the embassy the terminal will serve to expansion of the bilateral cooperation.

The decision on construction of the grain terminal in Baku for reception and transportation of Kazakh grain was made during the meeting of the Azerbaijani-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission in May 2005.
