The volume of traffic in Azerbaijan for 10 months of 2005 was 103,6 million tons of various goods, which is by 8,2% more of the same period of 2004. The main part of traffic fell at the road transport, the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan told Trend. 56,1 million tons of cargo have been conveyed by this mode of transport, which is by 6,6% more of the same period of 2004. The volume of the passenger traffic has also increased by 4,5% an made up 700,7 million persons.
The Ministry noted, the sea transport carried 11,2 million tons of cargo, which is by 0,5% less of the similar period of 2004. From this volume 72,8% fell at oil and oil products, 27,2% are dry cargo.
The volume of traffic by the railway was 21 million tons, which is by 23,6% more of the same period of 2004. The rest part of the traffic make the air transport, main oil pipelines and other modes of transport.
