The Azerbaijani Chamber of Auditors is currently involved in the work over the development of a new program on conduct of tax audit. Vali Rahimov, the head of the Financial Sector of the Chamber, some directions of the program were discussed at a recent meeting of this organization.
The program envisages rules and terms for conduct of audit activities on the base of existing Tax Code. Work over designing of a document will be complete by the end of this year and submitted to the consideration of auditors.
“If necessity, specialists of the Taxes Ministry will be attracted to the development of the program,” Rahimov underlined. Under the work it is planned to carry out relevant workshop for employees of the Chamber.
Along with it the organization carries out work over the improvement of the legislation in the sphere of auditor activities, in particular, the laws on Audit Services and on Interior Audit, which is funded by the technical assistance of the World Bank (WB). The WB grant allocated for the upgrade of the accountancy and audit is $340,000. The work will be complete in 2006.
