Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PPCP) reached a processing level of 17,000 per day, General Director of PPCP Shukhrat Danbay told Trend.

"If the daily rate of oil processing at the plant was at 16,500 tons in September and October this year, then now it has increased to 17,000 tons per day. This is a record figure", Danbay said.

He noted that Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant intends to process five million tones by the end of this year.

"Five million tons of oil refining for the year - this is an indicator that was recorded at the plant 18 years ago," the director general said.

He noted that the growth of processing has been achieved through the improvement of the manufacturing process, as well as through the restoration of the guaranteed supply of raw materials from neighboring Russia.

The Pavlodar refinery, built during the 1970's, during Soviet times, initially was technologically oriented towards processing Russian crude oil from fields in Western Siberia.

Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant is the largest oil refining, production and sale enterprise for petroleum products in Kazakhstan. It produces petrol, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil, gas, oil bitumen, coke and sulphur.

The design capacity is 7.5 million tons per year. The depth of oil refining at the plant is about 85 per cent and is focused on West Siberian oil. Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant's shareholders are Refining Company RT (KazMunayGas Processing and Marketing's subsidiary) with 58 percent of the shares and the Samruk -Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund with 42 per cent of the shares.
