As of October 1, 2013, the number of gas users in Azerbaijan amounted to 1,580,474, compared to 1,569,860 (on Sept. 1), a statement released by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) said on Friday.
SOCAR's Azerigas Production Association (PA) is engaged in the distribution and sale of gas in Azerbaijan.
According to the report, some 1,561,399 subscribers account for the population, and 19,075 subscribers account for other categories.
Some 684,154 subscribers are in Baku (674,291 subscribers are from the general population), 896,320 subscribers account for other regions of the country (in total, 887,108 subscribers are from the general population).
As of October 1, the number of smart card gas meters, installed for private individual customers, reached 793,383, while on January 1, 2013, the figure was 594,000 units.
