Trading of energy companies using smuggled fuel suspended in Turkey

Trading in over 16 energy companies that used smuggled fuel has been suspended in Turkey, Sabah newspaper reported on Nov.15.

According to the newspaper, it is expected that another 32 will be closed in Turkey as a result of the fight against smuggled fuel consumption.

It was earlier reported that Turkey will tighten its fight against the use of smuggled fuel.
As part of tightening measures against the use of smuggled fuel, the Energy Market Regulatory Agency (EPDK) of Turkey banned 145 filling stations from trading for seven months.

According to the EPDK data, some 145 filling stations were fined a total of 125 million lira.
The official exchange rate on Nov.15 is 2.0442 TRY/USD.
