Turkey reduces oil imports

Turkey has reduced oil imports by 4.8 percent in 2013 compared to 18,554,156 tons in 2012, the statement of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) said on Feb.18

Turkey has reduced oil imports by 4.8 percent in 2013 compared to 18,554,156 tons in 2012, the statement of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EPDK) said on Feb.18

Turkey`s import of diesel fuel grew by 13.7 per cent last year compared to 2012 amounting to 9,702,268 tons.
Gasoline sales in the country increased by 0.6 percent in 2013 compared to 2012 amounting to 1,860,715 tons.
Out of the total volume of imported oil in 2013, some 21.4 percent came from Iraq, 15.3 percent - Iran, 14.2 percent - Russia and the remaining 49.1 percent came from Saudi Arabia, Libya, Greece, and Nigeria, according to EPDK.
Turkey imported 19,479, 238 tons of oil in 2012 and some 18,490,163 tons in 2011.
