Kazakhstan plans to create a single company in the drilling and service area, chairman of Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas, Sauat Mynbayev said on Feb. 25.
Mynbayev made the remarks at the company's expanded board meeting, which was attended by Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov.
"The combined company - 'KMG drilling and service' - will be created in the drilling and service area on the basis of all separate assets of KazMunaiGas," he said.
He stressed that 'KMG drilling and service' will include five companies.
"Despite the fact that these companies have little in common and completely different technological level, this work must be completed as soon as possible," Mynbayev said.
