State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to set up six vacuum compressor installations at the "Gryazevaya Sopka" (Mud Volcano) offshore field to collect low pressure associated gas, according to a message from SOCAR.

In particular, four gas compressor installations will be placed at the platform No. 1100, and the remaining two units will be placed on the platform No. 1201.

"Through these installations it will be possible to collect 150,000 cubic meters of gas daily, emitted to the air during production, and to deliver it to the land," according to SOCAR's message.

It is planned to construct underwater gas pipelines among the platforms within the project, in order to ensure delivery of trapped gases to the overall distribution network.

SOCAR includes production associations Azneft (companies producing oil and gas on land and sea), Azerkimya (chemical industry enterprise) and Azerigas.

Aside from that, SOCAR includes several processing and service enterprises, and institutions dealing with geophysical and drilling operations. SOCAR also has assets in Turkey and Europe.
