Baku seaport decreases transshipment of oil cargo in first quarter

The Baku International Sea Trade Port transshipped 305,000 tons of oil cargo in January-March 2014 or by 7 percent less than in the same period of 2013, a source in Baku port told Trend on April 4.

"The decrease was observed in the first quarter of oil cargo transshipment," according to the statement, "Thus, the transhipment decreased by 7 percent in January-March."

The Baku International Sea Trade Port transshipped over 1.41 million tons of oil cargo in 2013 which is by 1 percent more than in 2012.

In 2012, the port transshipped 1.4 million tons of oil cargo compared to 1.74 million tons in 2011. In 2010, the port transshipped 1.99 million tons of oil and oil products which is 21 percent less than in 2009.
