All tender procedures are planned to be completed by late 2014 as part of the construction of the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev told reporters on June 4.
"At present, the tenders are being held," he said. "Presumably, all procedures will be finished in November. The construction work will be launched."
The TANAP project envisages gas transportation from the Shah Deniz field through Turkey to Europe.
The pipeline's initial capacity is expected to be 16 billion cubic meters per year. About six billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered to Turkey and the rest to Europe. The pipeline's capacity can be further expanded to 31 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
