Uzbekistan's proven oil reserves amounted to 100 million tons (0.6 billion barrels), natural gas reserves - 1.1 trillion cubic meters in 2013, which corresponds to the level of 2012, according to the British Petroleum (BP) World Energy Report.

BP experts believe that Uzbekistan reduced oil production by 7.1 percent - to 2.9 million tons of oil in 2013. The company stressed that on average, Uzbekistan extracted 63,000 barrels of oil per day (minus 7.1 percent compared to 2012). Oil consumption increased by 2.1 percent up to 3.3 million tons in the country last year compared to 2012. The average daily oil consumption was 70,000 barrels in the country in 2013.

Uzbekistan extracted 55.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2013, which is 2.8 percent less than in 2012. Gas consumption decreased by 3.3 percent - to 45.2 billion cubic meters in 2013, according to BP.

Uzbekneftegas National Holding Company produces 70 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 8 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons per year.

The recoverable proven reserves of hydrocarbons in Uzbekistan amounted to more than 2.52 billion tons of fuel equivalent. Some 65 percent of this amount falls to natural gas reserves.
At present, the official statistics data on the production of oil, gas condensate and natural gas in Uzbekistan are not published.
