By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakhstan decreased oil and gas condensate production by 1.6 percent in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, Kazakh Statistics Agency reported on July 14.
The country produced 39.723 million tonnes of oil, including gas condensate in January-June 2014.
Oil production hit 33.360 million tonnes in the reporting period (3 percent decrease), gas condensate production reached 6.363 million tonnes (7 percent increase).
Meanwhile natural gas production increased by 1 percent to 21 billion cubic meters in the first half of 2014.
Moreover, Kazakhstan increased motor fuel (gasoline, including jet fuel) by 17.4 percent in the reporting period compared to the same period of 2013.
The country produced 1.486 million tonnes of motor fuel, 2.377 million tonnes of diesel fuel (10.2 percent decrease), 1.706 million tonnes of fuel oil (14.3 percent decrease) in January-June 2014.
Three large oil refineries (Pavlodar, Atyrau and Shymkent) operate in Kazakhstan.
