By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

The National Iranian Oil Company has rejected claims about selling $4.1 billion worth of oil to a company from the UAE.

NIOC director for international affairs Mohsen Qamsari rejected report of the country's Supreme Audit Court which claimed the UAE company has not settled its $4.1 billion oil debt to Iran, the Tasnim news agency reported on July 23.

Qamsari emphasized that the UAE is not the buyer of Iranian oil.

He added that the debt is related to European buyers, and settling the debt is dependent on progress in Geneva nuclear talks.

Iranian MP Ja'far Qaderi has said that Iran's Naftiran Intertrade Company (NICO) has sold $4.1 billion worth of oil to a UAE company, but has not yet received the money.

Meanwhile, the same amount of money has been drawn from the National Development Fund and has been deposited to the Central Bank account as the oil money.
