By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

The volume of gas export by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to Georgia will exceed 1 billion cubic meters in 2014, a source at SOCAR told Trend on Nov.14.

SOCAR exported 926 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia in January-October alone, according to the source.

"The volume of gas supply to Georgia will exceed 1 billion cubic meters by late 2014, while this figure was equal to 1 billion cubic meters in 2013," the source said.

SOCAR exported 993 million cubic meters of gas to Georgia in 2012.

SOCAR supplies gas to Georgia as part of its activities in Georgian market via a pipeline linking the two countries in Azerbaijan's Gazakh district. The pumping capacity of this pipeline nears 3 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company manages the gas distribution networks covering various regions of Georgia through SOCAR Georgia Gas company.
