Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has issued its next Invitations to Tender (ITT) for the supply of six gas turbine turbo compressor units, TAP reported on December 11.

These will be used for the installation in TAP's two compressor stations in Greece and Albania. The ITTs have been issued as two separate packages - one for Greece and one for Albania.

The scope for each of the two contracts covers the delivery and installation of three new-build - approximately 15 Mega Watts ISO - gas turbine turbo compressors, including auxiliary equipment. The compressor station facilities are separate contracts and were issued for tender on the 25 November 2014.

The TAP project was selected by the consortium of Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field development as the transportation route to the European markets.

The long pipeline will connect with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) near the Turkish-Greek border at Kipoi, cross Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.

Construction of TAP is planned to begin in 2016. TAP's shareholding is comprised of BP (20 percent), SOCAR (20 percent), Statoil (20 percent), Fluxys (19 percent), Enagás (16 percent) and Axpo (five percent).

TAP plans to award the contracts for compressor stations in the second half of 2015. The next Invitation to Tenders that will be issued by TAP are for the procurement of turbo compressor units for the compressor stations in Greece and Albania, and for the procurement of large diameter ball valves for Greece, Albania and Italy. TAP plans to issue these ITTs within the fourth quarter of 2014.
