SOCAR AQS drilling contractor plans to begin offshore drilling operations as part of three new projects for SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) in the near future, head of SOCAR's drilling engineering department Elshan Ismayilov said during the presentation of the "Drilling Engineering" textbook published in the Azerbaijani language on Dec. 29.
He said that at present, the preparation is underway to start drilling operations at the platforms "Bulla-6" ("Bulla Deniz" offshore field), "Guneshli-7" (shallow part of "Guneshli" field), as well as "Western Absheron" field as part of the projects.
The drilling operations are planned to be launched at these facilities in 2015.
Moreover, Ismayilov said that the company has drilled 41 high-debit wells up till now, which are in operation now.
