Kazakhstan's KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (KMG EP) exported nearly 500,000 metric tons of oil to Russia in 2014, the company said Jan.27.

"Furthermore, 447,000 metric tons of crude oil (9,000 barrels per day) was shipped to Russia in September - late December 2014," the company said.

These volumes of oil are exported to fulfill obligations under the counter-oil supply agreement between the government of Kazakhstan and the Russian government, according to KMG EP.

"Sales volumes shipped to Russia are specified by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and so far the company has not received the approved schedule for deliveries to Russia in 2015," said the company.

KMG EP is among the top three Kazakh oil and gas producers.

The volume of consolidated proven and probable reserve of the KMG EP, given the shares in joint ventures, amounted to 200 million metric tons (1.5 billion barrels) as of late 2013.

Some 148.8 million metric tons (1.1 billion barrels) of this volume accounted for Ozenmunaigas JSC, Embamunaigas JSC and Ural Oil and Gas LLP.
