Oil transportation via BTC through Turkey rises slightly in 2014

In 2014, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline transported through Turkey about 260.7 million barrels of oil versus 249.62 million barrels in the same period of 2013, the Turkish state-run pipeline company Botas said in a message Jan. 29.

The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey. The pipeline's construction started in April 2003. It was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

The shareholders of the BTC Co., which was established on Aug. 1, 2002, are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), as well as, ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).

In 2014, the Iraq-Turkey pipeline transported through Turkey some 55.91 million barrels of oil compared to 91.88 million barrels in 2013.

In 2014, the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline transported through Turkey some 22.21 million barrels of oil versus 23.74 million barrels a year earlier.

Last year, the Batman-Dordyol pipeline transported 14.45 million barrels of oil compared to 11.61 million barrels in 2013.
