Oil transportation via BTC through Turkey increases

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline transported through Turkey about 44.9 million barrels of oil in January-February 2015compared to 42.3 million barrels of oil in the same period of 2014.

This is by 6.1 percent more than in the same period of 2014, the Turkish state-run pipeline company Botas said.

In 2014, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline transported through Turkey about 260.7 million barrels of oil versus 249.62 million barrels in the same period of 2013.

The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers including a 443-kilometer section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer section in Turkey. The pipeline's construction started in April 2003. It was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

The shareholders of the BTC Co., which was established on Aug. 1, 2002, are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), as well as, ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).

In January-February, the Iraq-Turkey pipeline transported through Turkey some 23.4 million barrels of oil compared to 14.7 million barrels in the same period of 2014.

In 2014, the Iraq-Turkey pipeline transported through Turkey some 55.91 million barrels of oil compared to 91.88 million barrels in 2013.

In January-February, the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline transported through Turkey some 4.25 million barrels of oil versus 3.96 million barrels a year earlier.

In 2014, the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline transported through Turkey some 22.21 million barrels of oil versus 23.74 million barrels a year earlier.

In January-February, the Batman-Dordyol pipeline transported 2.24 million barrels of oil compared to 1.9 million barrels in the same period of 2014.

In 2014, the Batman-Dordyol pipeline transported 14.45 million barrels of oil compared to 11.61 million barrels in 2013.
