Projects for launching South Pars Phase 19 are underway with an average advancement of 76 percent in 19A, 19B, and 19C sections.

Phase 19 is designed for four rigs, three of which are under construction and one is to be provided by giving the second rig of Phase 1 to Phase 19, SHANA news agency reported May 20.

Rig A is 77 percent completed, while rigs B and C are 63 and 81 percent each.

Phase 19 leads among the South Pars phases in terms of physical progress.

South Pars is part of a wider gas field that is shared with Qatar. The larger field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters (South Pars) in the Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, referred to as the North Dome, are in Qatar's territorial waters.

Phase 19 is expected to yield 56 mcm/d of sour gas from the shared field and transfer it offshore.

There the sour gas will be transformed into 50 mcm of sweet gas, 550 metric tons of ethane, 2000 metric tons of propane, 1.2 thousand metric tons of butane, 80 thousand barrels of gas condensates, and 400 metric tons of sulfur.
