Turkish Stream has no specific buyers

Baku, Azerbaijan, May 27

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

The Turkish Stream project has no specific buyers of gas, said Michael Thomadakis, the vice chairman of Greece's Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE), said May 27, according to the Anadolu Agency.

"The Turkish Stream can be implemented in Turkey, but beyond Turkey the gas pipeline has no specific buyers," he said.

Thomadakis added that in case Russia will follow the EU rules, there is a possibility for the project's realization.

He said Gazprom and the future buyers of gas from the Turkish Stream should discuss the issue.

"The Russian side is very interested in selling gas to Turkey and Europe via the Turkish Stream," said Thomadakis.

Speaking about TANAP, he said this project is important not only for Turkey but for the entire region, as it will provide its energy security.
