By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

The results of the parliamentary election held in Turkey won't affect the projects of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, Kenan Yavuz, head of SOCAR Turkey Energy, board member of Petkim petrochemical holding said in an interview with Trend.

The results of the parliamentary election will by no means affect SOCAR projects in Turkey, he said.

"SOCAR believes in Turkey's democratic values and all projects of the company are currently being implemented without delay," Yavuz added.

He said that all the abovementioned remarks also concern the project for construction of Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) that is being jointly implemented by Azerbaijan and Turkey.

SOCAR Turkey Energy head added that the political and economic stability in Turkey will continue in the future as well.

"Turkey is a democratic country and the coalition government won't affect the state administration," said Yavuz.

SOCAR is involved in a number of major projects in Turkey, including the construction of TANAP, Star refinery, and others.

The company has 61.32-percent share in Turkey's Petkim petrochemical holding.

Moreover, currently, SOCAR is constructing STAR refinery in Turkey and its products will be sold in this country's market.

The annual naphtha production volume, used by Petkim as the main raw material, will hit 1.66 million metric tons at the STAR refinery.

Along with naphtha, the new oil refinery will produce diesel fuel with ultra-low sulfur to the amount of 5.95 million metric tons, aviation kerosene - 500,000 metric tons, reformate - 500,000 metric tons, petroleum coke - 630,000 metric tons, liquefied gas - 240,000 metric tons, mixed xylene - 415,000 metric tons, olefin LPG - 75,000 metric tons and 145,000 metric tons of sulfur. The refinery will not produce petrol and fuel oil.

It is planned to refine Azeri Light, Kerkuk and URALS oil at the plant.
