The volume of diesel fuel production in Azerbaijan stood at 1.35 million metric tons in Jan.-May 2015, or 20.7 percent more than in the same period of 2014, the country's State Statistical Committee said in its report on the first five months of 2015.
Currently, due to the increase in fuel consumption in the country, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the sole producer of petroleum products in Azerbaijan, is carrying out work on modernization of the existing processing facilities.
In total, 2.74 million metric tons of petroleum products was produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-May 2015, compared to around 1.75 million metric tons in the same period of 2014.
